Lansing, MI, December 2, 2011 / BMRW Promotions is proud to announce that “An Evening of Smooth Jazz” will return to Holt, MI on Friday, July 27, 2012. This is the 3rd consecutive year that the event will be held in the Margaret Livensparger Theater, located at 5885 W. Holt Road in the Holt High School Performing Arts Complex.
Since its debut in 2005, “An Evening of Smooth Jazz” has brought together some of the best jazz musicians and their fans in unique settings. Beginning in the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, the event was moved to the East Lansing High School Center for the Performing Arts to accommodate more fans. In 2010, the event was moved again for larger surroundings–this time to Holt.
The annual summer music event is presented by BMRW Promotions in Mid Michigan on the last Friday in July. It reaches an audience from the greater Lansing area and beyond. An Evening of Smooth jazz features local, regional and international artists including jazz stalwarts Nick Colionne, Gerald Albright (multi Grammy nominated), saxman Euge Groove, smooth jazz guitarist Tim Bowman, international Grammy nominated keyboardist, Bob Baldwin and Grammy award winner Orrick Ewing.
“We are happy with the success of ‘An Evening of Smooth Jazz” said Charlie Wilson, BMRW Promotions spokesperson. “I remember our first event when many didn’t know about smooth jazz or even some of the artists who came to perform but they came to support”. An Evening of Smooth Jazz has become more than just a music event. Several people who have moved from the area come back in July to enjoy the evening and reunite with friends and family. Some have purchased tickets in advance for the next 3-4 years. Attendance ranges from 3oo to 700.
This is the 8th year for the event and it will undoubtedly live up to its reputation that has been established over the previous years as one of the best music events in Mid-Michigan. For the past seven years, it has enjoyed unprecedented growth, constantly delivering stunning increases in attendance, return attendees to the beautiful community theater with attendees from as far as Seattle Washington, Florida and Nevada. “An Evening of Smooth Jazz ‘performers will be announced shortly and ticket information will also be available soon.
