Detroit Cass Technical High School Alum, Greg Phillinganes has been tapped as the musical director for the October 1st tribute to Bill Withers at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

On that day, an array of artists will com
e together at Carnegie Hall in New York City to celebrate the music and legacy of Bill Withers. Impresario Michael Dorf will produce the concert which has been dubbed Lean On Him: A Tribute To Bill Withers.
The show will feature a re-creation of Bill Withers’ famed Live At Carnegie Hall LP.
Those scheduled to perform include Michael McDonald, Keb Mo, Sheryl Crow, Kathy Mattea, Ed Sheeran, D’Angelo, Dr. John and Gregory Porter. Greg Phillinganes (Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder), Aloe Blacc, Amos Lee, Ledisi, Branford Marsalis, Jonathan Butler, Anthony Hamilton
Bill Withers was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
